Superfood bowl


Sometimes you just need a simple superfood snack or breakfast that is filling and nourishing...and doesn't overload your body with added sugar. Using berries and protein is the key to loving on your body without sending your blood sugar soaring. Enjoy this simple concoction:


Method:

Place frozen berries in a bowl - I used organic blueberries

In your blender fill with desired milk - I used about 1.5 cups of unsweetened almond milk

Add a TBSP of spirulina

2 TBSP chia seed

2 TBSP Naked Pea protein powder

1 packet of stevia or 1/4 tsp


Blend and pour over your blueberries and top with nuts - roasted almonds are lovely, as are most nuts! I like to make sure that the nuts I choose are roasted and salted but don't contain added oils - most companies use canola or sunflower oils so just be mindful of labels. When in doubt just buy raw nuts. These almonds are the dry roasted ones from Costa and come dry roasted (no oil) and salted. They're delish.
