1/2 cup tahini
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp tamari
1 tsp Dijon mustard
small sprinkle of stevia sweetener or honey, to taste
1 tsp no-salt seasoning blend (I use Kirkland’s brand but Braggs makes a good one too)
water to thin to desired consistency
Mix in all ingredients together except for the water. Once combined mix in a little water, 2 tbsp at a time and stir. The sauce will thicken.
Enjoy over a large bed of greens, cucumber, chickpeas, tomato & ogo* seaweed.
* Ogo is a type of algae. Sold commonly at farmers markets here in Hawaii, it’s rich in minerals such as iodine which is essential for thyroid health because of it’s crucial impact on hormones. Seaweed like Ogo helps to regulate estrogen & reduce the risk of breast cancer. Ogo/seaweed is also full of antioxidants which help to fight off free radical damage.
How to prepare: blanch in boiling water for 2 minutes. Drain and cool. Add to salads.
